Why do we need an experienced technician?

Brand new boot with an issue

What should be a straight-forward repair, replacing the steering rack with a brand new one, can sometime require a highly trained technician. This image illustrates why it’s important to have a technician and not someone who works on a vehicle for you in your back yard.Brand new boot with a rip
Would your back yard repair guy notice this brand new boot has a rip? Would they just assume that since this is a brand new assembly every part would be in fully functioning order?
Thankfully, for this customer, we do not need to find out.
At Hebb’s we check over all the parts before we install and call a vehicle repaired.

This is just one example we can share with you of repairs we come across.

Brakes need attention

brake inspectionLike other mechanical parts, the components that make up your braking system can wear out. Have your brakes inspected annually.

Tell tale signs your brakes need to be checked, or replace:

  • Applying brakes or as the wheel rotates, a noise is produced.
  • The brake pedal pulses under any form of pressure.
  • ABS or warning light on dashboard is lit.
  • Inoperable emergency brake.

Winter tires

Winter Tires - Why you should have them

Tires are made differently, and specifically for the road conditions in a certain area at different times of the year. Winter tires are made to improve traction, stopping and handling. The compounds used in the rubber for winter tires allow it to:

  • remain flexible in cold weather, and
  • have better traction on ice, slush and snow.

After the temperature dips below 7°C winter tires are the safest option for Canadian winters.
